At the Amity State Penitentiary in Amity, State, the inmates are preparing for lights out. The Amity State Penitentiary is a maximum security facility that houses the most evil of criminals. One of the inmates intends to execute his plan for escape. He may be in a maximum security prison, but with the right set up and the fifteen years that he has had to work on his plan; the chances of his escape are higher than anyone else.
The fears of many people in the Country are about to come true in a short time. The inmate trying to escape is the feared and loathed, Clyde Monroe. Monroe was sent to prison for life, after being found guilty for brutally beating a man in a barroom brawl for, according to Monroe, looking at him wrong, and for the murders of three police officers while fleeing the scene of a bank robbery. There are other crimes that are believed to have been committed by Monroe, but none of them can yet be proven. Monroe was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences for the murders and forty years for the assault charges.
Unfortunately for the world, but fortunately for Monroe, even the strictest of police can be bought with enough money, and the right threat. Monroe had much money that was made legally and was left in accounts and collecting high interest. He had a friend on the outside meet and buy the police that were needed to see Monroe’s escape. Those that did not accept the bribes were threatened and shown what would happen if they squealed on the plan. With the plan in motion all that was needed was the right time to come to enact it.
Sirens blare across the yards and through the halls of Amity State Penitentiary a signal that the notorious Clyde Monroe has enacted his plan for escape. The weather and darkness will be his ally. The rains are heavy, low land areas have begun to flood in only the first hour of what is forecasted to be an all night storm. Clyde needs but make a one mile dash for to the Lewd River through the nearby forests and fields. The police dogs have no trail to keep, and the rain and fog make it near impossible to see more than a few yards. Within an hour Monroe eludes the officers in pursuit and escapes up river to the next town of Sheldy. He stays long enough to gather his new identification and change his appearance and make his way further up river to Town.
Clyde Monroe plans to take a foot route to the city. He figures that the best place to hide is in the open. As he treks through the woodland country side of State he encounters a gorilla. Seeing the opportunity to be a hero and possibly obtain a reward for the rescue of an escaped animal he approaches the gorilla. The gorilla is comfortable with people and cautiously approaches Clyde. As the two creatures reach out and touch each other’s hand, a freak bolt of lightning strikes the pair. Both Clyde and the gorilla fall hard to the ground.
“What the hell was all that?” Coming too and seeing a body laying next to him, “Oh great, tell me I didn’t kill this dude.” As Monroe comes to his senses he realizes that he is standing, though rather squat, next to his body. “Great, just bloody great, I’m dead, out less than a day and I get killed by a lightning strike.” As Monroe walks over to his body he instinctively moves to walking on all fours. He looks down and immediately takes note that his arms are much bigger and much hairier than he remembered. He then looks around to see where the gorilla has fallen; seeing nothing he turns to examine himself and realizes that by some freak chance of nature, he, Clyde Monroe, is now in the gorilla’s body. Clyde’s body starts to stir. As his body comes to its sense it erects itself on its hands and knees, and Clyde sees that the gorilla is in his body. “Well, this ought to be interesting.” The gorilla, seeing the stranger that is the new Clyde, is startled and flees, scurrying on its hands and knees. Clyde is rather unaffected by this new development and returns to his quest to find civilization.
Upon finding a road way that should lead into the city, Clyde also finds a State State Highway Patrol officer driving slowly down the road. Clyde figures that commandeering the police cruiser will be a much fast route to town than walking. He makes his way to the road and walks out in front of the patrol car. The officer stops about twenty feet short of Clyde.
“So you’re the big, bad monster that old lady called about. Come here fella, let’s go for a ride in the nice shiny car.”
“My thoughts exactly, ma’am.”
Dumbfound, the officer pulls his taser, “Ok what the hell are you?”
“Honestly not too sure. Was hoping you could help me with that.”
“Ok this is how it’s going to go. You’re going to come over herw and place your hands on the hood. I’m going to cuff you, take you to the station and we’ll go from there.”
“How ‘bout I just kick your ass and steal your car.”
Clyde starts to rush the officer. The officer takes aim, and fires his taser, however, the taser has no effect. Clyde shoulder rams the officer, sending him flying down the road a few feet. Clyde puts on the officer’s utility belt and picks up the taser. He gets in the cruiser and makes way for the city.
Sarah and Oz stand in front of the nearly finished Bob 2.0. Sarah has all but completely scrapped the old Bob. She has upgraded his internal structuring, and added new weapons.
“Ok tell me why you don’t have a military contract?”
“Oz, do you honestly think the military is going to give me the satisfaction I’ve had in building Bob.”
“True. They’d take the plans give you your severance and that’d be that last you’d see it; until their killing terrorists on the news.”
“And that’s not what I want.”
Calling into the house, “DM get your drunkenness out here!”
DM, not drunk for once, monkeys out to the garage and admires the twenty foot tall, metal beast that is Bob. He walks over to Sarah and climbs up to her shoulder and pats her on back, then jumps down and heads back in the house.
“So how much more needs to be done?”
“Just the software and then a diagnostic check; should be ready by the weekend if I can avoid overtime at work.”
Back in Town, the West Branch office of the National Town Bank is under siege. Two men are in the process of robbing the bank. All of the attendants and customers are being held to one corner by one of the robbers. He flashes his MP7 in the faces of the hostages as to keep them from trying anything stupid. The other man is gathering money with the bank manager.
“Hurry up old man I don’t have all day,” barks the robber with the manager. “How we lookin’ over there Francis?”
