The Hunter's Chronicles
A Talk on Werewolves
Monkey Boy AJ
Werewolves are very simple. Most of the so called facts are indeed true. Werewolves have three keys points of interest in discussion. The first if the power they posses and where it comes from. Second is how to stop that power, should one have to confront a raging werewolf. Lastly is how werewolves maintain their species.
Werewolves are extremely power creatures. Their strength can only be matched and/or compared to that of a vampire’s. I have nearly been crushed by a werewolf thrown car. Werewolves are subject to the moon in a similar way to vampires. Though a full moon is not required to change, and transformation can be done at will, the fuller the moon the stronger the werewolf. Changing in daylight requires energy, skill and concentration to maintain form. A change at night, under the light of the moon, is much easier and less draining on the individual. It is impossible to spot a werewolf until they change form, this makes hunting them very difficult.
If a werewolf is in need of being taken down, it is advised that the hunter have a large caliber weapon and ample ammunition or be able to avoid their claws, and keep swinging a blade. Werewolves are much more resilient to physical damage than any other creature that I have faced. The best bet for taking down a werewolf is to have silver bullets. The bullets that I employ are silver 454 Casull, and blessed; and as always, one in heart, one in the head, tends to keep things on the ground. Using a blade and taking the head also seems to work well. The use of silver nitrate in a liquid form is effective at weakening werewolves; however, it has not been used effectively enough to kill one.
As for keeping werewolves coming, and maintain the blood lines, there are two ways to become a werewolf. The simplest way is by birth. The hard way is to be turned. Turning is done by having any of a werewolf’s bodily fluids mix with one’s own. Most commonly this is done by being bitten. Once bitten, the only way to prevent the change from setting in is to take an injection of silver nitrate. If done early enough, this will stop the change from occurring. Should one be unable to stop the change, it will set in and become fully permanent within approximately twenty four hours, ending with a transformation into full wolf form. A full moon is not required at any point to complete or further speed the transformation from human to werewolf.
Werewolves for the most part keep to themselves and are rarely seen in the civilized world. A large majority of the werewolves that I have met over my years are good people. There are those few that I have slain who are ruining the image of the werewolf in general. Remember that werewolves are the most powerful of supernatural creatures in term of brute strength and are not to ever be underestimated. Should one have to fight a werewolf, it is best to shoot first, hard, and go for the kill.
