The Hunter's Chronicle's
A Talk on Zombies
Monkey Boy AJ
Zombies are a very real and serious threat. Information about zombies is sought out by those that wish to learn all the scenarios they can, so that when they are confronted with an outbreak, they will be able to adapt and survive. The one truth about zombies is that there is absolutely nothing that can be set in stone. Everything shown in TV, movies, and video games, are all a viable truth, and will in fact help to protect someone should they encounter the undead. Zombies come in many shapes, sizes, and styles. There are just as many ways to create a zombie as there are to end them. There are religious zombies, superstitious zombies, viral zombies, and even biblical zombies. By definition, Jesus Christ himself was a zombie, sort of; he died and came back to life. A zombie plague can be spread through many means, the largest being fear. From my experience zombies are dumb, slow, and easy to kill in small numbers. This is, however, not to say that the possibility of smarter, faster, stronger zombies does not exist. Luckily for the world, the outbreaks that have occurred have been small and controllable.
Defense against a zombie(s) is simple. Maintain a strong will and the knowledge that it is fairly easy to outthink them. Wear as many thick and durable layers of clothing as you can, leather and chain mail work best. The best way to dispatch a zombie is the classic double tap, for me, that’s one in the heart, one in the head; I’ve yet to see one get up from that. Chopping off, or bashing in the head works just as well if you have to get up close and personal. Burning them or any means of dismemberment will also work in eliminating a threat.
From my experience there are few ways to prevent a corpse from becoming a zombie once it has come into contact with most now viral causes of zombie outbreaks. Transmission of viral outbreaks occur through the exchange of bodily fluids. The most common method of transmission is being bitten by a zombie. Should a person be bitten (which hurts and burns to no end) they should be inoculated with the antivirus, if they have not been already within the limits of the drug. Inoculation after a bite is only effective within a short period of time and varies based on the virus itself. Should inoculation fail, the best alternative is to take out as many zombies as one can, and being sure that they are dispatched in the process of said zombie slaying.
Remember that should there be an outbreak of zombies near, prepare as one should for any disaster; have provisions, survival gear, communication equipment and medical supplies on hand; find a weapon and a secure place that can only be accessed from one or two angles. It is best to have a large party of well prepared individuals, this will ensure better defenses and survival for all involved.
