Pulling up on the fourth in a series of warehouses, Andrew gets one of his feelings.  He tells Ester to pull over.   Andrew closes his eyes to concentrate on what little he can grasp onto.   “I got a feeling.  Let me meditate for a minute see if I can home in on it better.”

Curious, Ester questions, “So you’re psychic?”

Andrew surprised at the thought, “God no! My family has always had a knack for being able to sense supernatural entities and whatnot.   After training with one of the Vatican’s Paladins, I can home in on things a bit better, still need more training though.”  After concentrating for a few minute, Andrew points out one of the warehouses, “There.  Two of them.  And I don’t think they know we’re here.”

Ester and Andrew exit the car and cross the street to the warehouse.  Andrew armed with his trusty M4, sword, and the Redeemer; Ester with her Taurus 9mm handgun, and an M16.  They look for a way in, but only find the front door and bay access doors.  “Dammit,” mutters Ester.

“What?” As Andrew weighs in on the options.

“There’s no easy way in.  If we kick in the door anyone in there will know about it.”

“That might not be a bad thing.  If we grab your shotgun we can use it to break off the knob and walk in.  Then we can sneak up on them.”

“I guess that’s about as good a plan as we’re gonna get.”

Andrew goes back to the cruiser and pulls the shotgun from the front its mount.  As he returns to his ready position, Ester stops him.  She tries the door, and finds that someone has failed to lock it; they sneak through inside.  Andrew hands off the shotgun to Easter, who slings her M16.

Upon entering they find that the warehouse is storing several box truck loads of blood and marijuana ready to ship.  At the back of the warehouse, are the offices and rear loading bays. Arlene and her last subordinate are mulling about finishing the paper work on the shipments.  Andrew takes up the right, while Ester takes left.  Andrew takes cover behind one of the trucks, opposite from Ester hiding behind some classic wood crates.  Andrew signals the ready to take aim and open fire on the two vampires.  As Andrew stands to take aim, Arlene turns and sees him, “SHIT!” He opens fire, full automatic.  As bullets race through the office, the other vampire ducks and makes his way out the right side.  The second the male vampire enters Ester’s sights she fires a round from her shotgun, a few of the pellets find a home in the vampire’s left shoulder.  He turns and rushes Ester managing to dodge her next shot and tackle her into the crates.

Andrew unloads his M4 on Arlene to no avail.  She moves up on him and grabs him by the throat, spins him around, and throws him through the door into the office.  Before he can get to his feet she is over top of him. “You’re not the brightest are you?”  She grabs him by his shirt and throws him through the window to the floor.  He get to his feet to find that she is now standing behind him; as soon as he flinches to turns and kick her, she forward kicks him in the back.   Andrew falls into the window bent over the frame.   He quickly turns to punch Arlene, only to have his fist caught; she then uses her free hand to grip Andrew under his punching shoulder and fling him over her shoulder and onto a truck hood.  Leaning over him, “Come up with a plan yet?”

Andrew mumbling in a sigh of pain, “Give me a sec.”

Laughing, Arlene, lets go of Andrew; he falls to the floor.  As Andrew gets to his feet, Arlene takes a stand a few feet in front of him, “Ok, so how about we make this interesting?  I’ll stand here and give you a chance to actually hit me.”

Not taking a second to wait on the invite, Andrew makes his move.  As he thrusts with a right punch, Arlene sidesteps, but Andrew is not thrown by the move and quickly switches his footing a delivers a solid elbow to her face.  As she stumbles from the unsuspected hit, Andrew sends her to the floor with a hard left hook.  Against his general rules of combat, he kicks her while down; hard in the stomach.  As he reaches for his sword, Arlene gets to her feet and jumps on top of one of the trucks and then to the rafters of the warehouse.  Pulling some of the electrical piping from the ceiling, “Hey no fair I don’t have one of those;” she disappears as sparks fly and lights throughout the warehouse do dark.

“Yeah well I don’t really give a shit.  Just get down here so I can kill you.”

Chuckling, Arlene jumps down to the floor, “I’ll see about that.”

Getting to her feet Ester is met with a solid uppercut to the chin, sending her off her feet back to where she was.  Shaking it off and getting up once more, the vampire grabs her by the shirt and flings her around to the floor.  She rolls and jumps to her feet and meet the vampire with a kick to his wounded shoulder, as he takes a step toward her.  As her stumbles back a step she runs over and kicks him in the head.  As he falls over Ester makes for her shotgun.  The vampire gets to his feet in time to give Ester a helpful kick in the ass.  Ester swings her shotgun around as the vampire is rushing in to deliver another strike; she fire one round, taking most of the vampire’s head.   As his lifeless body hits the floor, she fires another round into his chest, shredding it open. Done.

Arlene charges Andrew.  All Andrew can do is block or attempt to block Arlene’s attacks.  Andrew manages to make contact with a few spots of Arlene’s clothing, but not with her.  After one of Arlene’s thrusting attacks, Andrew finds an opening and delivers a kick sending Arlene back a few feet and opening her up to attack.  Andrew goes for the kill, but Arlene gains control of her fall in time to block.  She jumps to her feet, and slashes at Andrew with her nails, but quickly switches it to a thrust that connects with his chest and sends him to the floor.  Ester joins the fight, bashing Arlene in the head with the butt of her shotgun.  Arlene spins around and back hands the shotgun from Ester’s grip and punches her in the jaw.  As Ester stumbles back, Arlene spins Ester around and puts her into a hold.  Andrew sits up to see Arlene sink her fangs into Ester’s neck. Ester screams and squirms in pain, but cannot free herself.  Before Andrew has a chance to get to his feet and assist Easter a female, in ninja garments, flies from the shadows and delivers a solid kick to Arlene’s face.  Ester falls to the floor as Arlene smacks into one of the box trucks.  Andrew rushes over to Ester and checks her vitals.

Grabbing him to his feet, the ninja snaps at him, “She’ll be fine. We need to kill this twat first.”

Arlene is now fully enraged and bares her fangs and blood red eyes at both Andrew and his new accomplice.  Arlene dashes at them, Andrew side steps the assault to ready for a punch, however, the ninja steps into Arlene’s assault and cold cocks her in the jaw, sending her against the truck again.  In the blink of an eye the ninja is in front of Arlene and has spun her into a choke hold, “Just how old are you anyway?”

Arlene elbows the ninja in the ribs and frees herself, “What’s it to you?”

“Just curious what passes for a vampire these days,” inquires the ninja.

Arlene dashes the ninja, but the ninja flashes behind her and straight kicks her in the back.  Catching her footing, Arlene , rage full, screams, “WHAT THE FUCK!?  How can you move like that?!”

“Maybe if you took time to actually develop your vampiric abilities rather than just be a bitch, you wouldn’t be getting your ass whooped.”  The ninja flashes toward Arlene, delivering another punch to her face, giving Andrew the opening he’s been waiting for.  Andrew has made his way onto a truck, over watching the fight and wait for an opening.  Andrew jumps down and with one swift swing of his sword; ends the fight, taking Arlene’s head clean from her shoulders.

Surprised by the attack, the ninja jumps back, “Dammit boy give a girl some warning!”

Turning to the ninja, “Sorry.” Andrew rushes back to Ester’s side and pick her up into his lap and checks her wound.

Standing over them, the ninja calmly reassures Andrew, “She’ll be ok.  She was only bitten, no ripping and tearing done.”

Looking up at her, “How do you know so much about vampires?  And where did you learn how to move so fast.”

Laughing, “Well when you’ve lived for almost seven hundred years, some things come natural.” The ninja starts for the door, “And no worries I already called it in, officer down, backup is on the way.”

Andrew enters the house that Damien has sent him to.  A man, or woman, or thing; he cannot tell, shows him to a room with a black altar.  He walks over to it and drops the head of Arlene, kept inside a backpack, onto the altar.   The moment it makes contact with the altar, Damien appears from the ether.  Clapping his hands, “Well done trusty squire.”  Reaching for his wallet, “I owe you some clams.”

Andrew annoyed by the whole ordeal, “I almost got killed you asshat.”

“Well I should expect so; you were fighting a hardass, vampire bitch.  But you got help in the end so who cares.”

Surprised and curious, “Wait a minute,” squinting his eyes at Damien.

Chuckling, “Of course I do, I sent her. Her name’s Kimiko, you’ll probably meet her again sometime, so there’s still a chance to get her number no worries bro.”

Sighing in frustration, “I hope not in the same manner as this time.”

Laughing as Andrew leaves, “It’ll probably be worse knowing me.”

Andrew quietly unlocks the door to the apartment, being after ten o’clock, he is betting that everyone is already asleep.  As he walks in and sets his bags down, he sees Rachel, sleeping on the couch, TV still on.   After closing the door, he makes his way to her and kisses her on the forehead.  She stirs and opens her eyes, as soon as she realizes it Andrew, she jumps up and hugs him tight, “Hunny!”  Rachel calls over her shoulder, “Girls, Andrew’s home.”

Andrew is attacked with hugs and kisses from Rachel.  Kylie comes running into the hallway, and upon seeing Andrew calls Rosetta; then proceeds to run and hug Andrew.  Rosetta runs from their room and screams with joy, “Daddy!”
